This afternoon, Mayor Holt implored OKC to take a break from higher-risk activities for the next 10 days and to continue to keep our distance from others as the spread of COVID-19 has skyrocketed in our city. The Mayor specifically mentioned his encouragement to transition staff to remote work when possible, order takeout to support local restaurants, and avoid indoor dining and large gatherings.
OKCPS is happy to adhere to the Mayor’s request and has made the decision to allow our staff to work remotely starting tomorrow through Wednesday, November 26th. Students and teachers will continue with their usual remote learning schedule for tomorrow.
Please note that essential staff should continue to report, and our buildings will continue to be open to staff who need access for connectivity during this time.
As a reminder, all OKCPS schools are closed next week in observance of Thanksgiving. Classes will resume in the remote setting on Monday, November 30, 2020.
OKCPS encourages our staff and families to follow the Mayor’s “10 days to stop the spread” guidance which, among other things, includes wearing a mask, staying home when possible and keeping your distance when in public.
