All children, grades one through eight, are eligible to participate
El Paso, Texas, April 29, 2010: Students in grades one through eight are invited to participate in the Annual Law Day Chess Tournament, competing against lawyers and paralegals representing the El Paso Bar Association. There is no entry fee.
This year the tournament will be conducted on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Saint Clement’s Episcopal Church, 810 N. Campbell St. (Corner of Campbell and Montana), from 9:00 a.m. until about 2:00 p.m.
Lawyers and paralegals compete against each other for ranking; children in each grade level will compete against each other.
Thereafter, the first and second place winners in each one of the children’s categories (appropriate grade levels) will compete against the lawyers and paralegals, with the oldest children playing the best lawyers and paralegals.
Trophies will be awarded. Pre-registration is appreciated, but it is not required.
