Thanks to gifts from friends like you, Feed The Children recently delivered eight semi tractor-trailers full of food and personal care items to 3,200 families in Philadelphia. The eight fully-loaded trucks were a welcome sight in this hard-hit city where the current unemployment rate is 9.4% and child poverty is twice the state’s average (33.9% vs. 15.4%).
The food distribution in Philadelphia was just one stop on Feed The Children’s Americans Feeding Americans Caravan, which has helped more than 60,000 families across the country. Prior to Philadelphia, the Caravan rushed food to struggling families in Bell, California, Chicago, Illinois and Yuma, Arizona.
