INTEGRIS Pediatrician Asked to Contribute to Physicians’ Council for Responsible Reform

ImagenOne hundred physicians from around the country have been selected to serve as consultants to the Physicians’ Council for Responsible Reform. Dr. Richard Stanford, a board certified pediatrician at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center, is one of them.

These concerned physicians will be receiving special briefings and providing input to Republican members of Congress during their deliberations of the Obama Administration’s efforts to reform health care.

“Lawmakers are not receiving enough input from practicing doctors around the country,” says Congressman Tom Price (R-Ga.), who was an orthopedic surgeon before running for congress. “The Physicians’ Council was created to get that input and we feel very privileged to have each and every physician involved.”

Dr. Stanford has been practicing medicine for 21 years. He has been with INTEGRIS Health since 1990. “It’s exciting to be thought of on a national level,” says Dr. Stanford. “I am looking forward to giving my two cents on health care and speaking for what I believe to be the majority of people.”

The Physicians’ Council for Responsible Reform, comprised of physicians who are respected by their peers, is expected to play a significant role in the health care reforms that are likely to affect nearly all Americans.
