Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club to display emergency preparedness kits statewide

OKLAHOMA CITY – Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. will partner with the Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security, Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management, Oklahoma State Department of Health, Oklahoma Medical Reserve Corps and Radio Disney for Ready Oklahoma’s Emergency Preparedness Weekend September 19-21. The event is part of September’s National Preparedness Month, a nationwide effort to encourage people to take simple steps to prepare for emergencies in their homes, business and schools. 
 
Wal-Mart will offer emergency preparedness kits at all Wal-Mart Supercenters, Discount Stores and Sam’s Clubs across the state. Volunteers will be available in stores to provide additional information.

–Displays of sample kits
–Informational brochures on emergency preparedness
–Checklist of necessary items
Recommended items include non-perishable food, drinking water, medical supplies, extra batteries and copies of important personal documents.

National Preparedness Month
