Summer Reading at Pioneer Library System’s Purcell Public Library, 919 N. Ninth, will feature storyteller and musician Ryan Bellgardt with his Big Magic Book Bugventures. The storyteller and musician presents a live, interactive puppet show with a core group of puppets engineered by Amy Bellgardt, Ryan’s wife, backed by a soundtrack of Ryan’s music.
The Big Magic Book Bugventure will play in the Purcell Public Library, Wednesday, June 25, at 10:30 a.m. This summer’s children’s reading program theme is “Catch the Reading Bug!” Bellgardt’s Bugventures will lead children into the creepy, crawly, stinky world of bugs. All the familiar puppet characters and new ones will join in the adventure full of music, laughter and audience participation.
The program is free and open to the public. The Children’s Summer Reading Program is part of a state-wide reading initiative developed by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries with funding from Institute of Museum and Library Services and offered with the support of Sonic, Inc., America’s Drive In. Touring programs in the Pioneer Library System are made possible through the support of Hitachi Computer Products (America), Inc., and Oklahoma Arts Council and the Anne and Henry Zarrow Foundation.
