Dear Friends,
This is to extend to you a personal invitation to participate in our second Jason C. Wagner Foundation Golf Tournament to be held at Oak Tree Country Club in Edmond, Oklahoma, on Monday, August 11, 2008. If you are unable to participate, we ask that you consider making a tax deductible donation to the Foundation to help further our cause.
As most of you know, Jason was a partner in the law firm of Collins, Zorn and Wagner and his legal practice was dedicated primarily to representing the Association of County Commissioners of Oklahoma (ACCO), and its member counties throughout the State of Oklahoma. Following Jason’s death, the Foundation was created to honor Jason and carry on his legacy. The Foundation’s primary focus is to award college scholarships to graduating high school seniors who reside in the counties Jason represented in his legal practice and who, in the Foundation’s view, most exemplify the characteristics Jason had in life: integrity, intelligence and kindness.
We are pleased to inform you that as a result of our fund-raising efforts to date, we have just awarded four college scholarships (two in the amount of $2500 and two in the amount of $750). We were absolutely astounded by the volume of applications we received and the quality of the applicants. Ultimately, however, the recipients we selected were chosen because they, in the Board’s view, most exemplified those attributes Jason had in life. We will be sharing more information about our scholarship recipients at the conclusion of this year’s golf tournament. I know Jason would be thrilled to know that through the gift of education, his life and legacy has helped to serve four of our fellow Oklahomans.
The tournament this year will be on the East course and following the tournament play, Oak Tree will be serving a wonderful southern-style meal during which we will have a brief live auction with all sorts of fabulous offerings up for grabs. There will be generous gifts for the teams that place in the tournament and all tournament participants will take away something special.
Please plan to join us at this year’s Jason C. Wagner Foundation Golf Tournament in memory of Jason and for this worthy cause! If you are unable to participate, please consider making a tax deductible donation to the Foundation. The Foundation has been organized under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All donations are tax deductible and all net proceeds will go to serve the purpose of the Foundation.
On behalf of the Foundation and our family, thank you for your friendship and support.
Most Sincerely,
Amy Wagner
