Library computer class registration July 1

ImagenNORMAN—In-Person registration for the free computer classes offered in July at the Norman Public Library, 225 N. Webster, will begin at 9 a.m. on  Tuesday, July 1. Telephone registration, 701-2620, will begin at 1 p.m. that day.
 
The classes are limited to 14 participants and will meet in the Computer Training Center at the library. Each two-hour session includes time for individual practice on the computers. Anyone more than 10 minutes late to class will not be guaranteed a computer.
 
Basic computer skills classes include:
Building Mouse Skills at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2;
Basic Windows XP at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 3;
Beginning Keyboarding at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2;
Windows XP: File Management at 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 3 (Basic Windows XP is required before taking this class);
Computer Basics at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 2.
 
Computer software classes are:
Microsoft Word I: Beginning Word Processing at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 7;
Microsoft Word II: Cut, Copy & Paste (Word Processing I a prerequisite) at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9;
Microsoft Word III: Short Cuts & Special Features (Word Processing I & II are prerequisites) at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 10;
Microsoft Word IV: Page Set-Up, Printing, Toolbars & Tables (Word Processing I, II & III are prerequisites) at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 11;
Microsoft Excel Part I at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23 (computer skills are necessary);
Microsoft Excel Part II (Part I is a prerequisite) at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 24;
Microsoft Excel Part III (Parts I and II are required) at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 25;
Microsoft Power Point (Good computer skills required) at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16;
Mail Merge and Address Labels with Microsoft Word (Good computer skills required) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8;
Photo Editing I with paint.net (Good computer skills required) at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30;
Photo Editing II with paint.net (Photo Editing I required) at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 31.
 
Internet classes are:
Internet I at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15;
Internet II at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 31;
Online Research Resources at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 25 (requires good computer and Internet skills);
Get a Job! Job Searching and Resume Writing at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15 (Limited to 6 participants; bring job and education history; bring USB drive or CD to save or have e-mail address to send to; some computer and Internet skills helpful)
Blogging Basics: How to Find Them How to Read Them and How to Start One of Your Own at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22;
Invest Ed: Learn How to Protect Yourself from Investment Scams and Con Artists at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29 (Invest Ed™ is an unbiased investor education collaboration of the Oklahoma Securities Commission and the University of Oklahoma Outreach; the first 14 registrants will have a computer; laptops welcome; observers welcome)
