Adult programs this summer at McClain County libraries in Blanchard, Newcastle and Purcell are meeting with great success as adults and their children re-discover their hometown libraries during the Summer Reading Programs.
Purcell Public Library, 919 N. Ninth, will have a workshop presented by the League of Women Voters Thursday, June 19, at 6:30 p.m. The topic is, Talking to Your Legislators: A Community Advocacy Workshop.
Thursday, June 26, at 6:30 p.m. Oklahoma author Connie Cronley will talk about writing and reading and especially about her books to be discussed by the group. Prospective attendees may visit the library to pick up a book prior to the program titled, Gasp, Gulp, Giggle, Sigh: My Love Affair with the English Language.
Newcastle Public Library, 705 NW 10th, will offer the Connie Cronley program Thursday, June 19, at 1 p.m.
Blanchard Public Library, 300 N. Main, has Cronley scheduled to present Gasp, Gulp, Giggle, Sigh: My Love Affair with the English Language on Friday, June 20, at 10:30 a.m.
Saturday, June 21, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. is Library Day at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History at the University of Oklahoma. Get free admission with a Pioneer Library System library card.
The Adults Summer Reading Theme spotlights Oklahoma authors and their “Life in the Pages.”It is presented with support from Friends of the Library in each community.
