Teens participating in the summer reading challenge at their hometown Pioneer library can learn how to modify traditional watercolor painting techniques to create a mixed-media masterpiece when they join a hands-on workshop with artist Lynn Melton. She has expertise in printmaking, painting, mosaics, murals as well as restoring or coloring photographs.

First on the tour will be the Norman Public Library, 225 N. Webster, Tuesday, June 10. Tecumseh Public Library, 114 N. Broadway, follows with the workshop on Tuesday, June 17; Shawnee Public Library, 101 N. Philadelphia, Wednesday, June 18.

Another summer program for some libraries will be a program titled, Transform Yourself Makeover presented by Origins Cosmetics.
All the programs are free, thanks to the support of local Friends of the Public Library organizations. In addition to the touring programs, each library has special events and promotions planned exclusively for the teens in their community.
