El Paso, TX, February 9, 2010- The UTEP cheerleaders will be hosting the second annual Ultimate City Cheerleading Championship. The championship is open to all cheer teams and individual cheerleaders. This will be an all day event allowing teams to compete in many divisions including: REC A, REC B, Elementary Mount and Non-Mount, Junior High/Middle School Mount, Junior High/Middle School Non-Mount, Freshmen, High School Non-Mount, Junior Varsity, Varsity, Youth All Star, Junior All Star, and Senior All Star. There will also be an individual competition and an exhibition (non-competitive) category.
Many of our local teams travel to compete at numerous competitions. The idea behind this event is to allow teams to showcase their talents here locally in front of family and friends.

The Ultimate City Cheerleading Championship will be held at Memorial Gymnasium on Sunday February 28th at 12pm. Teams who register before February 12th will only pay a fee of $125.00, and teams who register after February 12th will pay a fee of $175.00. General Admission tickets are $5.00 and are available at the UTEP Ticket Center.
