The first Edward N. Brandt Jr. Memorial Lecture is today featuring James Curran, the epidemiologist who identified HIV while working at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention while working with Brandt, an Oklahoman who served as the assistant secretary of health under President Reagan.
